The origins of Lincoln Lake Baptist Camp date back to 1938. It has emerged from ministering to a handful of children staying in tents, to a year-round facility consisting of a lodge, chapel, cabins, Yurts and residences for the camp staff.
Facilities
The camp now owns 73 acres of land, has over 2,000 feet of lake frontage, access to over 500 acres of Lincoln Lake, and utilizes 22 buildings. The camp has a beautiful 21,000 square foot lodge with 100 beds, a 200 seat dining room, a game room, a chapel, a nice swimming beach, and accommodations for up to 240 staff and campers at a time.
Camp Ownership
Lincoln Lake Baptist Camp is owned and operated by 34 Baptist Churches. Each church provides one approved voting member for the general board. From this general board a seven person Executive Committee is elected. The camp board of directors hires the camp director and provides direction and policies. While the philosophy and goals emulate that of the churches (namely the directives found in the Bible), Lincoln Lake Baptist Camp openly accepts children from any and all backgrounds and denominations.
Operational Cost
Summer camper fees, camp retreats, and rental groups cover about 60% of the total operating budget at Lincoln Lake Baptist Youth Camp. 20% comes from owning and supporting churches and covers a significant portion of the cost of employing the full-time camp staff. The other 20% comes from individual gifts to the camp.
Accreditations
Lincoln Lake Baptist Youth Camp is accredited by the American Red Cross for Life Guarding, CPR, and First Aid. LLBC has also met the accreditation requirements to be part of the General Association of Regular Baptist Camps, Christian Camp and Conference Association International, and the Association for Challenge Course Technologies. LLBC is also pursuing accreditation with the American Camping Association and the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.
